Russia to send "Tor-M2" air defense system to its Hmeymim air base in Syria

During a visit to Hmeymim Airport, a Russian journalist published several recent photos of the airport showing the presence of the Tor-M2 air defense system.

This is the first time that Russia has sent this system to Hmeymim airport, which contains one of the best air defense systems in the world S-400

The Russian Ministry of Defense has already published pictures of this system on Russian territory

Tor-M2 is an upgraded system of models of the Russian anti-air Tor family. The upgraded system was equipped with a new 9M 338 Ka rocket. The number of rockets transported by one combat vehicle increased from 8 to 16.

It is noteworthy that the Russian army began to receive the first models of the system developed for air defense in 2016.
