Russia’s Military Police Patrolling Three Neighborhoods in Syria’s Eastern Qalamoun

TEHRAN (FNA)- Chief of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of the Opposing Parties in Syria Yuri Yevtushenko said on Friday that Russia’s military police have begun patrolling the settlements of Ruheiba, Jeiroud and Nasiriyah in Syria’s Eastern Qalamoun.

"To prevent provocations, ensure security for civilians and maintain law and order, units of the Russian military police have organized patrolling in the settlements of Ruheiba, Jeiroud and Nasiriyah," he said, TASS reported.

According to the Russian officer, chiefs of administrations in Eastern Qalamoun neighborhoods are working to raise awareness of members of illegal armed groups who are willing to surrender arms and undergo a status normalization procedure.

"During the past day, as many as 1,871 people settled their statuses under the control of the Russian reconciliation center and Russian military police units," he noted.

The Russian reconciliation center said on Thursday a six-day operation to liberate Eastern Qalamoun from illegal armed groups was over.
