Saudi, UAE prepare to launch massive offensive in western Yemen

The Saudi and UAE-backed forces in western Yemen are preparing to launch the second phase of their large-scale offensive, which will target the Houthi-held port-city of Hodeideh.
Hodeideh is currently the only major port that is under the control of the Houthi forces in western Yemen; if they lose it, they will be permanently besieged by the UAE and Saudi-forces.

Previously, the UAE-backed Southern Resistance forces managed to seize the historical port-city of Mocha, which is known for rich coffee.

With Mocha under their control and the withdrawal of ‘Ali ‘Abdullah Saleh’s loyalists from several areas in western Yemen, the Southern Resistance forces were able to push north towards the Hodeideh Governorate.

At the same time, the Houthi forces still possess a strong presence in the Al-Jawf and Ta’Iz governorates, which could pose a problem for this upcoming offensive.
The Houthi forces have repeatedly used their presence in both Al-Jawf and Ta’Iz to alleviate the pressure on their forces along coastal Yemen.
