The Syrian army is preparing to concentrate his troops on the border with Israel

Israeli television quoted a senior official as saying that Israel had agreed to deploy Syrian troops at its northern border.

According to the report, the Syrian forces will take positions on the border with Israel, in return for a Russian promise to free the region from the Iranian presence and "Hezbollah".

The Israeli daily Haaretz reported late on Monday (May 28th) that Syrian President Bashar al-Assad intends to remove Iranian forces from the Syrian-Israeli border.

The military commentator for the newspaper, Zvi Bar'el, wrote that President al-Assad asked Iran and Hezbollah to remove their military forces from the Syrian-Israeli border in order to prevent the deterioration of the situation on the border and not to take the pretext of striking Israel for other Syrian targets on Syrian soil.
