Iran Categorically Denies Alleged Meeting with Israeli Representatives in Jordan

Tehran categorically rejected reports of a “secret meeting” allegedly held in Amman recently between Iranian officials and the Israeli Mossad officers.

"Production and release of such baseless rumors which are increasing is a fruitless attempt to buy legitimacy for the Zionist regime and weaken the will of the resistance stream against Israel," Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Shamkhani said on Sunday.

He underlined that a true Muslim is never willing to hold meeting and talks with the Zionists who are the symbol of evil.

His remarks came after the London-based Arabic-language news outlet Elaph — which is owned by a Saudi businessman — quoted a “participant” at the alleged meeting as saying that Iran’s ambassador to Jordan, along with several Iranian security officials, had met with Israeli intelligence agents in Amman.

It claimed that the two sides agreed at the meeting that Hezbollah and other Shiite groups would refrain from taking part in any future conflict between the Syrian army and opposition forces near the Jordan-Syria border.

The report claimed that the two groups were in two different rooms of the same buildings and their views were exchanged by a third party.
