Reuters: Washington tells the Syrian opposition that it will not interfere in the south of the country

Washington has told Syria's main opposition factions it should not expect military support to help it deal with a massive offensive by the Syrian army to restore areas controlled by the opposition south of Syria, areas adjacent to Jordan and the occupied Syrian Golan Heights.

A copy of a letter sent by Washington to the leaders of the Free Syrian Army groups and seen by Reuters, the US government wants to clarify "the need not to adopt your decision to assume or expect a military intervention."

The US message to opposition fighters also said it was only up to them to make the right decision on how to counter the military campaign launched by the Syrian army based on what they think is the best for them and their people.

In a related context, the killing of civilians and wounded five others, Saturday, June 23, in a bombing targeted an area in the province of Daraa south of Syria, according to the Syrian news agency "SANA".

The agency said that "terrorists belonging to the organization of the victory front fired a rocket-propelled grenade on Al-Kashef district, wounding one citizen and causing material damage to some public and private property."
