Statement of the General Command of the Maritime and Coastal Defense Forces

With the escalation and the threat of the US-Saudi-led coalition of aggression to mobilize more troops to invade Yemen on the West Coast with the aim of occupying Hodeidah, and as the Yemeni naval forces are present to meet the challenge, it was thanks to God to thwart the process of maritime evangelization hostile warships, which was heading at dawn on Wednesday 13 June 2018 Towards the coast of Ghalifka south of Hodeidah, an American barge was targeted by two coastal missiles, resulting in the destruction of the barge completely.

The Yemeni naval forces, while carrying out their national and religious responsibility to defend the sovereignty of Yemen and the safety of its territorial waters, confirm that they are highly prepared to inflict painful and devastating blows on any warship threatening the Yemeni coasts, while recalling that the destruction of this barge is not the first of its kind and will not be the last.

The enemy opening the battle of Hodeidah has lifted the level of danger in the Red Sea and has to bear the consequences of what he did, and we will not remain indifferent to the most serious foreign attack threatens millions of our oppressed Yemeni people.

In the same context, the Yemeni Navy confirms that there is no concern for civilian vessels as long as they are committed to international maritime law and call upon them to ensure their safety to move twenty nautical miles away from the wars of aggression.
