Syria - SDF Forces declared State of Emergency in Raqqa

DAMASCUS (Reuters) - Syria's Democratic Forces announced on Sunday the state of emergency and a 48-hour curfew in the eastern city of Raqqa, in anticipation of "offensive" attacks against the city and to confront what it called groups of instability.

"The Internal Security Forces in Raqqa" said in a statement on the website of "Qusd" that it received "information indicating the entry of terrorist groups working for mercenaries urging ... to the city of Raqqa and is carrying out attacks that undermine security and stability in general."

Accordingly, they declared a "state of emergency and a curfew in the city of Al-Raqqa from 5 am on Sunday until 5 am on Tuesday."

Syria's democratic forces, Kurdish and Arab-backed Arab factions, took control last October of the city of Raqqa in northern Syria after fierce battles with "Daash."
